Best Practices Exchange 2016 – Growing Our Seeds

Growing our Seeds: Improving the Efficacy of Capture for the CA.gov Web Archive

Presented by Kris Kasianovitz from Stanford University Library and Shari Laster from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

The CA.gov web archiving collaborative (California Digital Library, University of California, Stanford University, the State Library, and State Archives) applied for and received LSTA grant funding in order to build and grow a web archive of our state’s government web-space. This presentation elaborates on the approaches we are employing to ensure that our captures are both complete and discrete, with the goal of establishing cohesive seed URL development methods as well as a sustainable funding model for future captures.

Recorded on November 2, 2016 in the Stanley Mosk Library and Courts Building in downtown Sacramento as part of the 2016 Best Practices Exchange.
